For me, I think really I just had to purge.
I got rid of old lights, old garland, old christmas trees and old Christmas cards and...well, actually, you know, I don't remember what else. And that tells me I probably didn't need what I got rid of.
What I kept were the ornaments that meant the most to me, my books that meant the most, Christmas photo albums, stockings and a few other things: all of it fits into one Rubbermaid tub.
I fully intend to purchase lights next year and light up my Tiny House for Christmas and I would love to go to the tree farm and look for a tiny tree :)
Meanwhile the tubs in this picture are gone and it feels good to simplify my Christmas collection.
I have one half-size tote and the box the tree came in (trees are really, really expensive here!). I keep them in the house so they stay spider-free. I'm pretty sure the garage has a Nativity that I haven't seen in three years, but I won't get rid of it when I find it! I desperately miss the anticipation of Christmas, but until the rest is decluttered,I don't have room to decorate!
ReplyDeleteBehold, the trash man cometh. ;)
Next year you'll be decorating for Christmas with your car parked in your garage!
