25 of 31 Days of Declutter Tips and Trials

Crayons.  Markers.  Colored Pencils.  Watercolors.

Time to color your world with a cleared out space.

These items can be so hard to get rid of.  If there is half a crayon/marker/colored pencil/watercolor left, then yes, there is still use left.  Unfortunately, most hands reach for the good ones, not the half used ones.  The half used ones stay half used and the good ones turn into half used ones and you have twice as many half used ones as you had before!

Guess what??  Little secret: these go on sale every year for back to school.

Throw out the half used ones.  Keep the good ones.  If you're really missing the ones you threw out, replace them when the sales come around again.

  1. Wasn't there a mold a while back to melt and repour the old ones? I hate tossing crayons, but I get so exasperated with the clutter that I wind up doing so with some regularity. :)

    1. I do remembering hearing about a mold for repurposing crayons but then I'd have to store the mold :)
