20 of 31 Days of Declutter Tips and Trials

Take a look through your sheets and pillowcases.

Set aside your favorite sheet set for each bed in the house
and a pillowcase for each pillow.
When you wash sheets, take them off the bed, wash them, and put them back on in a day.
(I do understand if you have babies & toddlers this idea will only be possible in a dream world!)

Consider saving a couple flat sheets for drop cloths if you plan on painting anything.

Donate any now extra sheets and pillowcases to somewhere (homeless shelters, secondhand store, etc.) or just close your eyes and toss them in the garbage.

  1. We went to one set of sheets a few years ago. I buy the highest thread count I can afford (right now we're using some 600s I got on clearance) and use them until I find a hole. The last set made it close to four years of daily use, including a few rounds of childhood puke and Iowa summer sweats. Not bad for $30! Now I'm going to use the non-holey bits for a shirt for me or a dress for BG.

    1. That makes so much sense! I love the idea of repurposing them into clothes; could you please send me a picture when you do?
