Light

I took a lot of pictures of the light coming through all my windows this morning.

I love the light all of the windows provide in my tiny house.

Then I found out a young man we know died of cancer this morning.  I can't stop crying and I can't imagine what his family must be going through.  There is light everywhere and yet emotional states are very dark right now.

How do we reconcile all the light with all the dark in the world?

I don't know.

I do know:

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”  John 8:12

Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous. Psalm 112:4

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.  John 1:5

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.  2 Corinthians 4:6

And there will no longer be any night; and they [a]will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.  Revelations 22:5
